The village screen of Hisar: a walled village with red-roofed buildings, a market and a windmill, fields outside the wall, and the resources above it

It lives under its own sky

The sun rises and sets over your village when it does over the real place. At dusk the lamps are lit; at night the stars and the real moon come out. The season and the weather come from the real world too.

The village in the warm light of the golden hour

Rain, fog, storms and snow follow the real forecast of your village's province. Istanbul and Sydney have opposite seasons on the same day.

In a cold winter, snow on the roads makes every army slower.

Founding

Your corner of the world

Move the Sky Atlas to the land that calls you and plant your flag. Your hisar rises a few kilometres away, never on the spot you picked, so no village gives away where its player lives.

The world map is the real Earth from above. The villages around yours belong to real players: some will trade with you, some will raid you, some will join your alliance.

  • The map can open where you are. Your location stays on your iPhone.
  • A new village is protected from attacks for at least its first 72 hours.

The village

18 fields and a walled plaza

4 woodcutters, 4 clay pits, 4 iron mines and 6 croplands lie outside the wall. Inside it stand the buildings that turn their wood, clay, iron and crop into a town.

Tap a building and its page opens with its own picture, what it does now, what the next level brings and what it costs.

The villagers in the lanes follow your population, the soldiers your troops at home. Buildings change their look as they grow, and carts leave by the gates when your merchants and armies really do.

Your steward

Bilge keeps the ledgers

Bilge, the steward: an old man with a white beard and turban, holding his ledger and a quill
“Welcome, ruler. I keep the ledgers; you make the decisions. Let us start with something to burn.”

Bilge guides you through The Founding: 27 quests from the first axe to a real hisar, each paying resources, gold or Prosperity.

Every day Bilge's list offers 5 tasks. Finish any 3 for 3 gold, a load of resources and a day of Prosperity.

Army

Six kinds of soldier

Train infantry in the barracks and cavalry in the stable, research new units in the academy and make them stronger in the smithy.

A battle report: a victory, with the attack and defense that decided it

Raid a neighbour for plunder or attack until one side is gone. Send scouts to count what waits. Wolves, bears and lions guard the oases; win one and it adds to your production. The wall, archers and the cranny keep your village and its stores.

Every battle comes back as a report that shows how it was decided: attack against defense, morale, the village's own defense, and who fell on each side.

Stronger together

Join an alliance at the embassy, or found your own. Allies cannot attack each other; they send each other resources and reinforcements, and climb the rankings together.

Fair play

Gold buys time, never strength

Gold finishes waits and buys Plus. It does not train troops, and no battle looks at what anyone paid.

  • Every kingdom starts with 30 gold, and quests, daily tasks and achievements pay more.
  • Plus costs 50 gold for 7 days: a second construction can wait in the queue, and production is 25 % higher.
  • Daily tasks give the same 25 % as Prosperity, for playing.
